I describe myself as a Plant Functional Ecologist. For my Ph.D., I studied how plant functional traits vary with the habitat affinity of tropical karst tree species. I was trained in Kitajima Lab, Graduate School of Agriculture, Kyoto University, Japan and Plant Ecophysiology and Evolution Lab, Guangxi University, China. At present, I serve as a Lecturer in Forestry at Department of Plant Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. I also have a strong interest internationally to foster the ecological science. I serve as a Vice Chair of International Network of Next Generation Ecologists and a Member of the Governing Board for International Association for Ecology.

RESEARCHPlant Ecophysiology which is the study of how the environment, both physical and biological, interacts with the physiology of an organism is my broad focus.

TEACHINGI try my students to graduate with skills and attitudes required to be responsible and engaged citizens both locally and globally.

LIFENo matter how busy I am and do not work more than 40-50 hours a week. I am committed to make my family a satisfying personal life a high priority.
